So you're curious to know if you can play as Venom in Spider-Man 2? Since its announcement, Venom has been part of the game's every new trailer, update, and marketing campaigns. Like most major PlayStation releases, Spider-Man 2 also received a live-action TV commercial that put the spotlight on Venom rather than Kraven, the game's other big villain.
It's safe to say that Venom's presence in this sequel has garnered immense hype, and it's not entirely surprising for you to wonder if he's playable or not, especially since Spider-Man 1 featured multiple playable characters. Yes, Venom is a playable character in Spider-Man 2. You play as Venom in the game's main mission, "Don't Be Scared," when Peter brings back the symbiote to give it to Dr. Connors in the Oscorp office, but instead have a confrontation with Harry, who rejoins with the symbiote to become Venom.
Unlike Peter and Miles, Venom doesn't have a skill tree you can progress, though you do get to try a variety of maneuvers to annihilate the security at Oscorp and escape to Times Square to face off against Kraven.
We don't want to spoil this encounter any more than we already have, especially since it's one of Spider-Man 2's best late-game set pieces.
